Valentina Cano – Poetry

Salt Water Wish

Take your smile

(a seashell shimmering across the floor)

and your voice

Passing a Man on the Street

A stroke of luck

made him feel like

he was wearing a suit made of sunlight

and river stones, shimmering with water.

He walked down the street

with a song tucked in his pocket,

a melody running like a thread

through his smile.
