Mission Statement:
As/Us is a space to showcase the creative literary expressions and scholarly work of both emerging and established writers from around the world. We began in 2012 by primarily publishing works by underrepresented writers particularly Indigenous women and women of color. We have since expanded our mission and vision to also publishing writing by our allies and other writers who are underrepresented regardless of gender, race, or ethnicity.
By publishing work by women from varied backgrounds we hope to show the intersections between themes and subject matter across international and tribal borders. It is our hope that As/Us will be a convergence of international voices that speak to both diverse and shared experiences.
We seek to publish a variety of topics including work that challenges conventions and aesthetics either on a narrative or formal level. Send us work with purpose, vision, something at stake, and writing you feel deserves a space in the world.
As/Us publishes a winter and spring issue both in print and online. Occasionally, we have a special themed summer issue curated by a Guest Editor to be published online.
