” As/Us was next – and I was primed and ready. Tanaya Winder and Casandra Lopez are two of the ladies behind this “… Space for Women of the World.” What a beautiful space As/Us is! With print and online availability, As/Us is new to the game, but quickly becoming very powerful. They recently put out a second issue, with a focus on V-day, and the One Billion Rising movement. Their first edition however, is certainly a bar set very high. There is so much to love and choose from, that picking favorites is hard – however some standouts did include: “angel tree,” by nila northSun and, “A DAY AT THE RACES,” by Julie Lythcott-Haims. In the efforts of leading off with a “good foot,” so to speak, there is also an interview with the musician and poet, Joy Harjo, that promises to entertain and enlighten. As/Us reminds what it’s like to be perfectly imperfect – human – and not alone.”
